NAME: Meadz
CONTACT: PM or [plurk.com profile] horrorsocial
ACTIVE TIMES/PACE: I'm a slower tagger with responses ever couple days unless the mood takes me.
BRACKETS/PROSE: Brackets but I'll follow others' preferences
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Please avoid fancy text due to my sight issues.

IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Do so and be prepared for a judgemental look as well as being pushed away. It takes severe distress or an overflow of emotions for her to be open to physical touches.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Go ahead but be warned that Misaki is very much NOT a fighter. Despite her strong personality she is weak physically.

RELATIONSHIPS: With enough time and deep CR building Misaki could have relationships in the future. There will be not shipping in the immediate future.

PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Misaki's mind is scattered like a broken mirror. Her illness targets her memory so she often experiences flashes of the past. If any were to delve into her mind they would find fear and desperation on a bad day. On a good day the mirror that is her mind is taped together with jagged edges.

MAGICAL INFORMATION: Misaki is a powerful spirit medium, at least by her world’s standards. She has the ability to sees Spirits when others cannot, is ruled by her ‘feelings’, and is prone to experiencing visions of the past. Due to her sixth sense mixing with her illness Misaki has a hard time with self-awareness. When she is around other mediums, or those with a sixth sense, for a long period of time she begins to take on some of their traits.

MEDICAL INFORMATION: Misaki has a condition called Moonlight Syndrome which causes memory issues, 'sleepwalking' to the point where she wakes up not knowing how she came to be there. MS also causes shifts in moods and Misaki has been described as going from Gentle and Compassionate to Cold and Selfish.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Due to her canon being a haunted hospital where the subjects were sick as children there are the following trigger warnings: child experimentation, memory loss, terminal illness, suicide, violence, mentions of old fashioned brain surgery and electric shock therapy, kidnapping.

OUT OF CHARACTER

BACKTAGGING: Yes, take what time you need. The only exception is if it has time sensitive subjects such as during events (what are the repercussions) and then we can discuss handwaving the thread.
THREADHOPPING: Yes
FOURTHWALLING: Yes
NOT INTERESTED IN: No shipping at the moment please, I'd like CR to develop naturally

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: A fashionable young girl dressed in the flowing, elegant clothes typical of Japanese teen girls in the late 1980s. Her dark brown-black hair is cut short in the back and sloping forward with wisps framing her face. While she walks with her head held high at 5'6 ft this ignores her tendency to wear 3" heels.

Misaki's appearance

AURAL: Misaki has a smooth, confident voice which she tends to use in a self-assured tone with others she is familiar with. When presenting herself to strangers her tone is still confident but her polite facade has Misaki presenting a softer voice. When scared her pitch goes up and her words are more frenzied.

Misaki's voice

OLFACTORY: Due to her upbringing Misaki tends to enjoy the more refined yet popular scene of Shiseido's zen floral perfume. It has notes of Hyacinth, Galbanum, Orange Blossom and Bergamot. She tends to avoid intense physical activity so her body odor is mellow, clothes smelling as if they have been meticulously cleaned and only the soft odor of smoke from busy city streets lingers upon her.

DEMEANOUR:
Upon first meeting Misaki presents herself as a sophisticated young woman with a gentle manner due to her family's good breeding. She is often seen as blunt yet caring to her friends and others who know her. Those close to her also know she can be quite head-strong to the point of bossiness.

1. Dreams are how Sleep chooses you. What might draw your character into Somnia— a wound, a wish, a weakness? Would they follow the dream, or run from it?

2. Somnia is a slow unraveling—of worlds, and of selves. How does your character respond to fear, transformation, and losing control? Do they fight, adapt, collapse?

3. Connection is the only constant. What kind of bonds does your character form— fast and burning, slow and wary, deep and desperate? How might that shape their time in this world?

The feeds are cut, the communicator turned off, and soon the device is sent sliding across the wooden floor until it settles beneath the settee, a place which has recently become Misaki’s bed. A notebook and pencil lay by her side, resting forgotten by her legs.

No more.

She cannot look back on the footage of the last couple of weeks any longer. Every time she sees their faces she hears clips of conversations they have had on the network, conversations which she has eavesdropped on. It is not the people that she cares for. Not all of them at least. It is what was done, who did it, and the general lack of knowledge surrounding the incident which bothers her. A third party, unknown to both Hades and Hecate? An unknown variable which terrifies her.

An image of Mitsuru, hurt and scared, comes to her mind and her fingers close around the fabric of her skirt, bunching it up as she stares ahead at the wall. All it takes is one thought and the connections start in her mind.

Mitsuru’s current pain, her sadness, her intelligent mind broken. Past torture of her friend, her screams, her broken to a near death state then brought back to only have it repeated once more.

Castiel. A broken man. Sadness. Something happened? Recent disappearances. Recent returns? Past events. The Cave. Torture. A bloody hand, smashed past recognition. Something is not right, something is missing. Not a broken man. A broken angel.

Angel. A sad red haired woman, Anna. Ellen, upset over something lost. Returned and lost once more.

Lost. Suzaku. A son left behind. Confusion. Hurt. Why? Jung Tsu? Drained and near death.

Death. The scantily clad girl, skewered from all sides. Carver’s friend. Something more? Something is wrong. No sight. Sadness. Loss.

More sad faces. More people have lost and will be lost. All soon to be broken.

Broken people.

Broken creatures.

Broken toys of these Gods.

Broken… toys?

…Toys…

“Stop!” A familiar voice rings out, a past recollection, an echo that sends her falling.

Misaki’s eyes widen as she stares at the ceiling, unmoving despite the pencil digging into her back.

No. A lie. She cares about the people, just not all in the Underworld. However, others do. It is a web of connections laid between people. Everybody is cared for and cares for another. Remove or harm one person and it creates a domino effect until it does affect some one she cares for.

Escape is impossible. She is not an idiot. Fighting Gods is not something they can manage, even if they were to band together. All they can do is survive and, for that, they need knowledge.

History repeats itself, the torture is evidence of that, so they must learn from the past and use it to ready themselves for the future.

A sigh.

It is time to return to work. For those few she does not want to see dead.

“What am I doing?” Thin fingers pause over the onscreen keyboard of the tablet before lowering, one finger curving to turn the device off. Her left hand opens a drawer of her desk and retrieves a cloth normally reserved for wiping down her glasses. She carefully wraps the cloth around the tablet and drops both into the drawer before closing it once more. The last thing she needs, she decides as her glasses are removed, folded, and carefully tucked on the edge of her desk, is for the tablet to turn on by itself and stream further secrets. If any have ever wondered on what they have seen from her they manage to keep it to themselves in this Hell.

In the other room lies Miya, carefully propped up on the counter between the wall and the register, her glass eyes turned towards the front door. It has become routine for the doll to keep watch for customers while Misaki works at her desk in the back office. Yet again, if any find this unusual, it goes unmentioned.

Carefully, Misaki tugs at a red leather journal, sandwiched between her accounting book and a schedule of deliveries and work shifts from the past few months. With steady hands she opens the journal and runs her fingers along each taped in note, letter, and photograph. Some are torn. Some are spotted with old blood or ink. Very few are old. All were with her when she arrived, her pockets brimming with knowledge she had uncovered in Haibara Hospital. Knowledge she had paid for with her friend Madoka’s life. Curiosity. Of all the traits Misaki had attempted to fix during her time in the Underworld curiosity was the one she knew had the potential to be her undoing There is no doubt in her mind that she would pay almost any price to know.

With a sigh she pulls herself from her thoughts and flips through the worn pages of the journal, her eyes glancing over the words but not really taking them in. Not until…

According to Dr. Asou’s enquiry, the island’s masks were made to affect the mind of the wearer. For example, when you look at the face of a smiling man, you become happy. It is human nature to adapt to what is seen. (Dr. Asou noted that emotions are shared by expressions.)

She frowns.

…when you look at the face of a smiling man, you become happy.

…emotions are shared by expressions.

Misaki closes the journal but does not slide it back into its hiding place. She walks out to where Miya is rest and moves around the counter to face her. She smiles at the doll. All she does is smile for several minutes, standing calmly in place.

“Well?”

Miya does not respond so she lets the smile fade.

“No. I suppose not.”

What she does feel is disappointment. Maybe she needs to be around more happy people.

If they exist in this place.
